Social Search Recommendation

The internet as a conduit of information cannot be over emphasized, but how such information are presented and the level of accuracy of search results remains a great challenge. Hence, the need for more human contribution to the search mechanism through viable social features.

Google's recently launched, Plus One (+1), seems a tool in the right direction to incorporating social experience into general internet search. It's a direct recommendation of things of interest which invariably effects better search results.

Plus One (+1) makes it easier to find exactly what you are searching for when a friend or someone you know already found it. The social connections to search may greatly enhance local search as it directly recommends a product to friends and gives a general rave review.

Microsoft had earlier incorporated Facebook 'like' into its search result, but not effected in overall search algorithm.

The new search trend is perhaps a major shift in the visual architecture of internet search, albeit the search giant is yet to integrate it into its search algorithm. However, webmasters have been called upon to avail themselves of the social tool in their web contents as it will soon serve great search engine optimization (SEO) criteria.

Meet Allahabad's Internet sensation, Govind Tiwari

Tiwari gets creative with Obama

Internet makes heroes of unusual people. On Monday someone tweeted a link to the blog of some Govind Tiwari. Within a matter of hours, the little-known teenager from Allahabad was an Internet sensation. In an interview, Tiwari tells us more about himself and that he had no clue about his fame till he read about it in the papers on Wednesday.

On the morning of Wednesday, Govind Tiwari woke up wondering why on earth every single person in his phone book was trying to reach him.

As it turned out that morning's Dainik Jagran had a photo of his on the front page and a turn to page 5 where an article mentioned about his rather unusual achievement.

If you are on Twitter you'd probably know that Govind Tiwari is no ordinary man.

Tiwari was number one on Twitter's trending topics and number 5 worldwide! The reason? This: http://govindtiwari.blogspot.com/

Someone tweeted a link to this blog with its gaudy and awful-as-hell design, not to mention his blinking photographs and even a picture of Obama watching his picture on television.

By the time someone somewhere said 'Govind Tiwari', the link went viral and by Monday afternoon practically everyone on Twitter had noticed his work of genius.

How to change AutoRecover interval in Office 2007 and 2010?

Among the many useful features of the Microsoft Office 2007 applications is AutoRecover.  It involves saving all the data in the Office 2007 application after a specific time interval so that it is recovered in case there is a power outage or a system crash. All your work or data in the Office application is saved automatically after that specific time interval. This feature keeps you from losing work you have done. By default, this AutoRecover interval is set to 10 minutes in all the Office 2007 applications. However, it is possible to change AutoRecover interval in Office 2007.  If you change AutoRecover interval in Office 2007 to less than 10 minutes such as after every 5 minutes, you will be able to save your work or data frequently. It will prove very helpful if you are facing problems in the power supply or your operating system.
The option to change AutoRecover interval in Office 2007 is offered for every application. Here we will use the example of Excel 2007. Follow these steps to change AutoRecover interval in Office 2007:

1.     Click on the Office button.
2.     Click on the "Excel Options" button on the bottom of the resulting menu.
3.     The Excel Options dialog box will appear. Select Save on the left hand side of the menu.

4.      Check the box for "Save AutoRecover information".
5.     Select how often you would like Excel to save the data for AutoRecover.
6.     Click OK.

You should not set the time to a very short time interval. Remember that when working on larger worksheets or documents don't set the AutoRecover to a very short time interval such as 1 minute because that may begin to slow down the computer, as saving a large amount of data after each minute will strain the computer.
